Trading house

Trading House from Latvia for Central Asia and the EU

One operator, one process, one address – for the entire chain from manufacturer to European buyer.

Trade House ECLECTIE is a Latvian trading house in Riga that connects Central Asian producers and buyers in the European Union. Six areas are gathered under one roof: multimodal logistics on the Trans-Caspian corridor and the Baltic Sea, an operating warehouse at Uriekstes 4A in Sarkandaugava, halal certification through an independent partner, export-import support, trade representation in the EU and legal support of contracts. One operator is responsible to a partner along the chain, not five disparate contractors.

Trade House ECLECTIE in Riga, Latvia

Direct answer.

What is a trading house and what exactly does ours do?

A trading house is a Latvian operator that leads the entire chain between a manufacturer in Central Asia and a buyer in the EU: procurement, logistics, warehouse, certification, documents, sales representation and legal support. Trade House ECLECTIE operates on the principle of a “single window”: it purchases in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan; stores and processes goods at its own warehouse in Riga at Uriekstes 4A in the Sarkandaugava cluster; prepares export documents; accompanies halal certification through an independent partner Hal Latvia; represents manufacturers to buyers in the Baltics, Scandinavia, Poland and Germany; leads the legal side of contracts. One Latvian SIA - one set of documents - one responsible.

Six services

Six services under one Latvian SIA

The format of the trading house works only when the same operator leads each step. Below are the six services we provide within one SIA. Each has a separate page describing the process, rates and frequent questions.

Operational model

Why Central Asia to EU trade goes through Latvia

Latvia is simultaneously located on the Trans-Caspian Corridor, on the Baltic Sea with the Freeport of Riga and within the European Union – three properties that no single Central Asian country has. For a trading house format, this means one jurisdiction where it is possible to sign EU-compatible contracts, store goods within the EU customs territory, perform sanitary and marking checks and ship cargo further by road, rail, sea or air without crossing another EU external border.

SIA Trade House ECLECTIE was registered in Latvia in April 2025; the company operates under Latvian corporate law, reports to the Latvian Register of Enterprises, operates in euros. Its legal address is Lielmaņi, Mārupes pag., Mārupes nov., LV-2167, near RIX International Airport. Daily operations are conducted from our leased part of Uriekstes 4A in the Sarkandaugava industrial cluster – 2,934 m2 of functional areas under one roof: a warehouse area of 1,440 m2 as a transit hub for European deliveries, a showroom of 720 m2, a packing shop of 486 m2 and an office of 288 m2.

Latvian SIA is the simplest legal form for a foreign partner in the EU: a low minimum capital, an English-language register, an open public record of the company and the right to work in the EU without additional approvals. Manufacturers in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan receive a transparent counterparty in the EU without the need to create their own subsidiary, while buyers in the EU receive a Latvian invoice and an agreed set of accompanying documents.

Quality control

Pre-export control: fixing defects in Riga, not at EU border

Each batch we prepare for shipment passes pre-export quality control at the Riga warehouse. In the first step, the goods, packaging, label, lot code and accompanying documents are recorded. In the second case, the data are checked against the requirements of EU food law, rules of origin, halal protocols and the partner’s order; typical labeling and completeness errors are noted in Riga. At the third stage, the partner receives a clear “ready/correct/risk” report before the party leaves Latvia.

The cost of editing a label or missing certificate in Riga is about 5-10 EUR per pallet. The same operation at the EU border after customs holding costs 200-800 EUR plus storage and demurrage. By shifting control up the chain, we are reducing the three largest hidden items of expenditure on shipments to Central Asia – the EU: refunds, fines and simple capital.

How our trading house is checked from day one

The company is registered in Latvia, the details are given in the basement of the site. SIA Trade House ECLECTIE is an independent legal entity in the Latvian Register of Enterprises and is responsible for all contracts and obligations. Halal Latvia is a separate independent halal certification body in Latvia and the EU, working according to protocols agreed with the Latvian Food and Veterinary Service (PVD). SIA SLB LV is a separate B2B partner and importer of Uzbek dried fruits, rice, spices and porcelain, with whom we work on logistics and procurement projects.

The trading house and partners have intentionally different legal entities: this eliminates the conflict of interest between logistics, certification and procurement. Each side of the chain is responsible for its area of competence, while the only counterparty for the buyer in the EU is SIA “Trade House ECLECTIE” – one invoice, one set of documents, one party to whom you can contact if something goes wrong.

Primary direction

Trade House. Uzbekistan direction.

Uzbekistan is the primary direction of the trading house and the densest part of the procurement portfolio: dried fruits, pilaf rice, spices, halal-meat categories, Rishtan ceramics and cotton textiles. For this lane, all six services of the trading house — logistics, warehouse and customs, halal certification, export and import, trade representation and legal support — work as one cycle from a single operating loop in Riga.

The base route is Tashkent — Aktau — Baku — Poti — Riga via the Trans-Caspian corridor, with air via Tashkent — RIX for time-critical shipments. Pre-export quality control runs at our warehouse at Uriekstes iela 4A in Sarkandaugava, where labelling and origin issues are fixed in Riga at a cost of EUR 5–10 per pallet instead of EUR 200–800 at the EU border.

FAQ

Trading house from Latvia - frequent questions

A trading house is one legal entity that conducts every step between a manufacturer in one country and a buyer in another: purchase, transport, storage, certification, customs, sales representation and legal support. Instead of stitching together five different brokers, the partner signs one contract, receives one invoice and one set of documents. Trade House ECLECTIE in Latvia plays this role between Central Asia and the European Union.
