Manual. On the counter we keep only hand-held Suzans from the workshops of Bukhara, Samarkand and Shakhrisabz. Machine imitations are much cheaper, but they have the same pattern and flat texture – this can be seen on close inspection.

In Bukhara and Samarkand, Susan was historically embroidered for the wedding: girls and women of the family prepared several panels that became part of the dowry. Patterns - vegetable (pomegranate sockets, tulips, almonds) and geometric - carry the meaning of well-being and fertility. Each school has its own handwriting: Bukhara suzans are denser in embroidery, Samarkand - larger in sockets.
On the counter we have a Suzanne of two sizes: 80×80 cm (for a wall or a small tablecloth) and 120×120 cm (square tablecloth on a table or a large panel). Colors - from pastel creams to rich red and cobalt, depending on the workshop and party.
Care - delicate: wash manually in cool water with a soft detergent, do not twist, dry horizontally on a towel. Stroke from the back at a minimum temperature. With proper care, the suzane persists for decades, a thing that is passed down in the family as an inheritance.
